Increasing information exchange to coordinate fires and battlefield assets

Building on the success of our 2009 and 2010 events, Defence IQ’s 3rd Annual Air/Land Integration & Joint Fire Support Conference is set to be the biggest and best yet.

Current Operations have again highlighted the necessity for militaries to increase the levels of battlefield coordination and planning between the services. Sharing situational awareness, coordinating targeting information and joint-training initiatives have emerged as the most serious challenges for both commanders in theatre and decision makers at national and regional headquarters.

Defence IQ’s third Annual Air Land Integration and Joint Fire Support Conference has been designed to enable senior officers to gain access to the key case studies and emerging concepts that will drive the coordination of the future Joint force, including:

  • Presentations from Commander Royal Artillery of the 1st Division, British Army on the large scale Exercise ‘Flying Rhino’, NATO HQ Allied Rapid Reaction Corps and the Nordic Battle Group addressing how effective Joint Fires training on a multi-national scale can be designed and successfully executed to ensure preparedness for combat
  • Recommendations and analysis from the UK MoD’s Department for Joint Capabilities and the USAF’s Joint Fires Integration and Interoperability Team into how tactical Joint Fire Support is currently being developed and delivered
  • Evaluation of the current status of live and simulated training and accreditation initiatives for joint operations including details from the RAF’s Distributed Synthetic Air Land Training (DSALT) facility, JAPCC’s Combat Air Branch and the US Marine Corps Marine Aviation Weapons & Tactics Squadron

Taking pace in London on the 17th & 18th May 2011, the Air Land Integration and Joint Fire Support Conference annually brings together between 80 and 100 participants made up of individuals from NATO Militaries responsible for guiding developments in A/LI and J-Fires doctrine, TTPs, training and technology as well as representation from leading international capability providers.
